8 Inspiring and Entertaining Podcasts to Add to Your List for 2018

top podcasts for 2017

Books, music, audio books, Netflix, the radio. There are so many ways we consume things and get entertainment. Every day we’re finding new ways to be entertained and to learn things – we get bored easily. I get bored easily. Podcasts are a new one for me. I’ve been pretty into podcasts this year, and I’m not the only one. 42 million Americans listen to podcasts weekly.

I forgot what got me started on podcasts, but I’m so glad I started. It’s been entertaining, enlightening, educational, and inspiring. I listen to everything from reality TV and minimalism to entrepreneurship and marketing. It all depends on where I am, what I’m doing, and the mood I’m in. I love listening to new podcasts – even if it’s just one or two episodes. There are a few that I listen to all the time. Some I’ve finished. Some I’m almost finished with (there are so many episodes!!). Here are some of my favorites – in no particular order because honesty it changes by the day. I’d love to hear yours too. 🙂

  1. The Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher
If we’ve talked for a significant amount of time in the last couple of months, I’ve probably mentioned the Goal Digger Podcast at some point. I found it a few months ago, and I’ve been flying through her episodes. Jenna Kutcher is a creative entrepreneur and her podcast is a live-workshop style business podcast for creative girl bosses. As a marketer and a creative entrepreneur, my nerdy excitement is off the charts. I haven’t listened to an episode yet that wasn’t inspiring, eye-opening, or helpful. Jenna is also a photographer, and so some of her tips are focused on that, but it’s super easy to take that advice and tailor it to your business.
  2. Reality Steve Podcast by Reality Steve
Oookay guys. This one is a guilty pleasure for sure. Reality Steve is a reality TV blogger and podcaster. An old coworker told me about him a few seasons back of the Bachelor, and I’ve been hooked ever since. He started exclusively talking about the Bachelor franchise. At first it was just Reality Steve talking about the show and giving out spoilers. He then started bringing guests on the show to get a real behind-the-scenes look into the shows, and he recently started interviewing celebrities from other reality TV series outside of the Bachelor franchise. I love hearing the behind-the-scenes scoop of how the shows are produced, why certain things happen, and I love to hear from past cast members about their experience and how things *really* played out. If you like the Bachelor franchise and don’t mind spoilers, you would love this one!
  3. Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso by Girlboss Media
Sophia Amoruso’s podcast is about bad ass women. She interviews different women in various industries who have pushed past boundaries and made a name for themselves in one way or another. It’s inspiring to listen to these interviews because none of these women were handed ANYTHING. They built their empires and are doing really great things.
  4. Adam Ruins Everything by MaximumFun.Org
This is such a fun podcast. If you’ve ever seen the show, Adam Ruins Everything, this podcast goes into more detail about the tidbits of information and fun facts you get from the show. Topics range from Hollywood and politics to language and the War on Drugs. There have been a lot of episodes that didn’t sound interesting but ended up being really informative and entertaining.
  5. The Minimalist Podcast by The Minimalists
This podcast is put together by The Minimalists, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus. Together these two have a website, two books, and have gone on several tours. All of their content is based around living a more meaningful life with less. “Less” means more than less material objects, and the most important part of living with less is clearing my mind of unnecessary clutter. And holy cow – DIGITAL CLUTTER. I highly recommend their book, Every Thing That Remains, but their podcast is really great too. It really makes you think about the steps you should take to help clear the clutter from your life.
  6. Bucci Radio by Amanda Bucci
Amanda Gucci is awesome. She’s an entrepreneur and fitness influencer. I am new to her podcasts but I really like them so far. She’s east to listen to and I love listening to interviews with other entrepreneurs and fitness influencers.
  7. Google Partners Podcast by Google Partners
If you are a online marketer or in a leadership position in an agency, you’ll really like this podcast. It’s put on by Google and they interview digital marketing experts about agency life, digital marketing, leadership, and more.
  8. Womenwill Podcast by Womenwill
This is a new podcast for me as well. Womenwill is an initiative from Google with interviews with women on leadership, their careers, pushing through boundaries, and advice on thriving in our careers and lives. It’s been so inspiring to listen to these women. I’ve listened to all the episodes and I’m anxiously waiting for each new one!

A lot of my favorite podcasts are led by women. Hearing about so many successes, challenges, tips, lessons learned, and just great conversions is so inspiring to me. It gives me the fuel to light my fire even brighter as I navigate the world each day. And that can be tough sometimes. Sometimes you don’t have the inspiration or you’re feeling like it’s not really worth the effort. Sometimes you’re having a good day and you just get that extra push from a great conversation. There are some great and entertaining podcasts by men as well (duh – there are some here), but it makes me so happy to hear from strong, successful women.

Now – I want to hear your favorite podcasts! So many of the ones I listed are career focused, but some are funny and just straight up entertaining. There are others I listen to from other genres too. I even sometimes tune into a grammar podcast with tips on writing. I’m all over the place. So, no matter what they are, I want to hear your favorite podcasts! Either tell me in the comments below, tell me on the ‘gram, or share with me on Facebook!

Follow along. You know you want to.
