American Flag Themed Egg Collecting Apron

American Flag Themed Egg Collecting Apron

I am so excited to share my latest egg collecting apron with everyone! The inspiration for this apron came from a post my friend, Made by Molly, tagged me in on Facebook of a red, white, and blue beach bag. With it being Independence Day, I knew I had to find a way to make a patriotic version of an apron. And you know what…the apron pattern is PERFECT for an American flag!

I giggled with excitement every time I worked on it. All 15+ hours. Continue reading “American Flag Themed Egg Collecting Apron”

REVIEW: Darn Good Yarn Subscription Box – May 2017

REVIEW: Darn Good Yarn Subscription Box – May 2017

I love subscription boxes. They’re so fun and so many of them give you a taste of certain products or foods. I have a whole list of makeup and beauty products from my ipsy subscription that I plan to buy at some point (I have to get through my samples first!).

A few months ago when I discovered the Darn Good Yarn subscription box, I immediately signed up. A yarn subscription box!? How have I never even thought to seek one out before!? And for $10 + shipping, how could I say no?

Here’s what you get. Continue reading “REVIEW: Darn Good Yarn Subscription Box – May 2017”

REVIEW: Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue Mascara

REVIEW: Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue Mascara

I finally received another Influenster box!

For the last few weeks I’ve been trying Maybelline’s #GreatLashBlue mascara. I was a little nervous because it’s BLUE. Then I got really excited to try it because it’s BLUE.

I don’t wear a ton of makeup consistently. I’m straight up too lazy most days. I stare at a computer and go straight to the gym most days anyways. Not a good equation for wasting some quality goods, huh? Continue reading “REVIEW: Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue Mascara”

Five Crochet Patterns for Beginners

Five Crochet Patterns for Beginners

As a crochet beginner, it’s very easy to feel overwhelmed by the number of crochet patterns out there. THERE ARE SO MANY. Luckily we can narrow it down by what we actually know how to do, right? 🙂 But even then, let’s say you’ve master single and double crochets, and now you want to try out a pattern with one or both of those stitches. There are still so many to choose from!

I’ve been crocheting since about 2012. My first project was an infinity scarf, and my mom didn’t give me a pattern. I just double crocheted around and around. Pretty easy, but after that I was hungry for more!

The patterns below are some of my favorite crochet patterns for beginners, and the instructions are so easy to follow! That was a huge thing for me. If the pattern wasn’t easy to read, I was moving on. All About Ami is one of my favorites, so I would highly suggest taking a peek around her site for some inspiration! 2017 Goals Check In

2017 Goals Check In

Hello! Long time, no talk. 😊

I can’t believe it’s already the end of March. It’s been a busy, but also kind of lazy, couple of months. Work-wise, super busy. Everything else, not super busy. To be honest, I feel like I’ve taken a step back in certain areas. Maybe deep down I need it, or maybe my laziness is making an appearance and won’t go away.

Because I’ve been feeling a little disconnected with the things that I love to do, I started thinking about my goals from the beginning of the year and where I am with those (UGH). I realized I haven’t made huge strides, but instead of giving up like a lot of people might do, I’m revisiting them!

Now, I don’t want to “go easy” on myself to make the goals easier to achieve. No way Jose. Instead, I’m going to reevaluate what I need to do in the next 9 months to reach them.

Let’s take a look! Continue reading “2017 Goals Check In”

Resolution VoxBox Review

Resolution VoxBox Review

Last month I received my very first Influenster box! I was so excited because it was filled with healthy snacks and products from brands like Burt’s Bees, popchips®, and Orabrush®. Just like most people, I like to start my New Year on the right foot by choosing healthier snacks, making goals for the gym, taking more walks during the day, and just choosing healthier alternatives overall in my life. That’s why I was super excited to receive the Resolution VoxBox! Continue reading “Resolution VoxBox Review”

What I Learned from My First Craft Show

What I Learned from My First Craft Show

A couple of months ago, my friend, Molly, asked if I wanted to participate in a craft show with her. Neither of us had done one before, and we are both craftaholics, so of course I said yes!

We planned what each of us would make and then we spent the next several months crocheting, knitting, and sewing like crazy. Jo-Ann’s text and email coupons became life savers as I obsessively went to the store for more fabric and yarn. November came up so fast, and the craft show day went by even faster, but I was able to jot down some notes about things that I learned. I did so much research on craft fairs, and I read the same types of articles, but it was so helpful to read each one from so many different people’s perspectives, so I hope that this is helpful for first time craft fair vendors! Craft Show Preview: Easy Half Apron

Craft Show Preview: Easy Half Apron

Hey everyone! As I mentioned awhile back, I am prepping for a craft show! I wanted to share some of the items I’m working on because I’m excited about them, and they’re pretty simple to make.

I’ve been working on apron sets with an adult and child version hoping that people will buy them as neat little holiday gift sets. This weekend I make a really cute navy and white polka dot apron with a yellow waistband. ITS SO CUTE. You can find some simple instructions below. Katy Hearn Summer Fitness Challenge Review and Progress Photos

Katy Hearn Summer Fitness Challenge Review and Progress Photos

I’ve been tinkering with the fitness lifestyle for just over two years, and I’ve seen many different fitness coaches and programs throughout the internet and social media. There are a lot that are not a good fit for me, but there are a lot that excite me. My issue is always money. Why would I pay for a list of exercises that I can find online for free? Well, I tried that, and while I saw some successes, it wasn’t as much as I always hoped for. And then there were the weeks where I would wing it, and those were not good weeks. Nutrition is a whole other story as far as counting macros, staying accountable, and making adjustments. I never had anybody tell me to lower my fat intake by X or increase my protein by X. I needed that. Continue reading “Katy Hearn Summer Fitness Challenge Review and Progress Photos”
